Energy End-Use Efficiency, Policy and Economics
Project Title:
Next Generation Heat Exchangers
Principle Investigator(s):
Reinhard Radermacher, Shapour Azarm (Mechanical Engineering)
Abstract:
Based on a brainstorming session with sponsors and using multiscale multidisciplinary modeling techniques including CFD and FEM as well as DOE and meta-modeling approaches and optimization routines, we are searching systematically for heat exchanger geometries that have the potential to be significantly more compact than current micro channel heat exchanger technology.
