Developing Pt and Pd–based Systems for Catalytic Conversion of Methane to Methanol and Ethane Using O2 as the Only Oxidant
We design new metal complexes and study their reactivity that would allow us to bring about the following transformations:

Currently, a version of a catalyst immobilized on mesoporous silica for methane – to – methanol oxidation with O2 as oxidant is being developed. This work is being performed with research groups of Prof. T. Brent Gunnoe (University of Virginia) and Prof. Brian Trewyn (Iowa State University).
