Research Pathways

The University of Maryland Energy Research Center focuses on the following areas of energy technology research: 

• Advanced Solar Energy Conversion and Fuels from Biological Processes

• Energy End-Use Efficiency, Policy, and Economics

• Fuel Cell Systems and Electrochemical Energy Storage

• Next Generation Nuclear Reactors and Fusion Processes

• Small-Scale Power Systems (for Electronics & Propulsion)

In addition, the Center undertakes research is active in graduate-level education through a wide array of cross-disciplinary courses.
