For the first time, Mtech is offering its most popular entrepreneurship course online this summer. The course is held asynchronously online, allowing students to complete the course from anywhere at anytime during the Summer I term of June 1 to July 10.

ENES460 Fundamentals of Technology Start-Up Ventures: This three-credit online course is open to all students and will help them learn the processes and skills needed to launch and manage new ventures.

  • Students will learn how to assess the feasibility of a startup venture, as well as how to apply best practices for planning, launching, and managing new companies.
  • Students will discuss a wide range of issues of importance and concern to entrepreneurs and learn to recognize opportunity, assess the skills and talents of successful entrepreneurs, and learn models that help them navigate uncertainty.
  • This multidisciplinary course will draw on management, business, legal, financial, as well as technical, concepts.
  • Students will develop a business plan based on their own ideas.

Dr. James V. Green, Director of the award-winning Hinman Campus Entrepreneurship Opportunities Program (Hinman CEOs) at the University of Maryland, College Park, will serve as the instructor for the course.
