"About Natural Gas and Hydraulic Fracturing"
At the heart of the global energy debate is the realization that the world’s demand for resources must be met not only by greater supply, but also by cleaner energy sources that minimize environmental impact and preserve quality of life. Natural gas is one such energy solution that is abundantly available and less carbon-intensive than both oil and coal. This presentation will explore the economic potential of natural gas development in the U.S. and provide an in-depth view of hydraulic fracturing, the technology used to develop natural gas resources. The presentation will also explore the role of ExxonMobil and its subsidiary, XTO Energy, in promoting responsible operations for developing natural gas resources and advancing industry best practices.
Rhonda Pope is the U.S. Black Oil Optimizer for ExxonMobil Refining & Supply Company. Rhonda graduated from the University of Louisville with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering in 2001 and an M.S. in Chemical Engineering in 2002.
