Booz Allen Hamilton Distinguished Colloquium in Electrical and Computer Engineering

"Sponsorship of Scientific Research in a Competitive Environment"

Dr. Lawrence Schuette
Office of Naval Research

Abstract:

In this talk I will explain the various sponsorship models used by the National Science Foundation, Army Research Office, Air Force Office of Scientific Research, and the Office of Naval Research.  Each organization has a different purpose and funding model:  understanding these will assist in maximizing the effectiveness of Principal Investigator engagement.  I will also discuss how to "open the door" to funding and share successful strategies.  Finally, I will provide an overview of ONR, speak to current interests at ONR and funding opportunities that will be available in Fiscal Year 2015.
